Craft Fair

Report of St Mark’s Church 4th Annual Autumn Craft Fair
Saturday 2nd November 2019

Firstly I wish to thank all of you who turned out to support this event. Your presence helped deliver a very successful fundraising day for our churches.

I would like to offer particular thanks to Sue Rutledge for organising not only a refreshments team but also for providing the refreshments themselves. John Pike deserves a special mention, having spent many hours in the hall foyer selling entry tickets. Another member of our congregation who stepped up to help was Derek Hyatt, who set up our new speaker system for the provision of background music. A ‘sound’ man in every respect. Many thanks also to Lesley Wilson for           printing and distributing posters.

I was overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who donated      tombola prizes and cakes. The latter sold out completely, thanks to Edith Thornton aided by Shirley Jenner, but despite Corrine Lewis’ heroic efforts, some prizes were left over which will be offered in  raffles over the coming months.

I had massive help before and after the event from folks prepared to roll up their sleeves and help set up and remove our bits and pieces and without whose help I’d probably still be carting stuff about!

As for the fundraising, I have been advised by our Treasurer, Derek Warner (who stood in the belting rain on car park duty) the event raised £695 plus a few pence - our best ever.

Thank you everyone.
